If you want your garden to look as 'prettyas a picture', then you should give it a frame - a border. Most border plants can be started from seed, they are easy to grow, not too partic-ular about shade or sun and not fussy as to the quality of the soil. Even poor soil canproduce a galaxy of brilliant color. Start seeds in containers or trays early in the spring, or if you prefer, sow the seeds in the ground where you want them to grow, as soon as all danger of frost has passed. Select colors that will complement the colors growing in the garden and remember that a splash of white here and there makes the colors appear even brighter.
